    Default Table topper challenge

I was taken with nakotha's table topper here http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...ml#post5776017 . Turns out the pattern is in a German magazine. So I was challenged to make it on my own. I noticed it was made with 4 French braids and two half 60 degree stars... neither of which I've done before... so more challenging. I fussy cut the starting squares at 3.5" since that framed the flowers. I cut the braid strips at 1.5" since they looked like 1/3 of the square. Because of the angle of the star, I added 1/4" to the star strips. I added more cornerstones to balance the look. The finished size is 12.5"x28". I used a thin flannel for batting. I used the birthing method. All the fabric came from my scrap bin.
