Table Topper Question
#1
I finished my first table topper. I used a pattern from Terry Atkinson website. My triangles are not perfect and do not line up great, but it was my first time and it is just for me so it will be ok. My question to you all is what color thread to I use to do the quilting? That is my worst decision on my projects. The colors are green with gold flecks, red with gold swirls, cream with gold stars and flecks and then the multicolor star fabric. The backing is the red with gold swirls and I am not decided on what the binding will be. I was also thinking of trying the free motion quilting, which I have never done before but want to try. What do you think???

I would go with a gold metallic thread. Sometimes my machine has trouble with that thread, so if you do not want to go that route. then I would go with a red color thread that matches the backing.
Just my nickle of thoughts!

Your table topper is beautiful!
I like the "invisible thread" when I have many colors to quilt over. I wouldn't use a metallic. I think you'd have lots of trouble with it, unless someone can recommend a good brand to use.

A multi color thread would look great on this beautiful table topper. You did a wonderful job with this.
Also.... If you are going to fmq it, I would layer some scraps and practice first until you feel comfortable with fm quilting.
