    I'm sorry --- I always forget to include something with the narratives! Vanish thread IS a water soluble thread. You use it on the top and loosen the tension. It comes out really nice with spritzes of water....except where the quilting goes over it. You need to soak the quilt in the washer to really get it out good though....otherwise it's like stiff fishing line poking you. I only do it on customer quilts that I KNOW are going to be washed.
