Here is my suggestion. Turn the quilt the other way, and make pillow shams or cases to lay on top of the quilt instead of trying to tuck it - it's probably too short?

I have had quilts like that, that just don't want go together. It is frustrating. But out of all of it, you have a gorgeous quilt.

I love it, so sorry for your troubles. I like the idea of trying it sideways. But when mine turn out to short for my high mattress. I got a white bedspread to go on the bed first. My log cabin I just finished is to short on the sides also. But with the white spread, it looks okay. I also check the size before I call it done but like most of us ,I ran out of fabric. and have to call it done.But I love your delectable mountain border.

So sorry about your troubles. That is a beautiful quilt. In my house the length would be perfeect. My son and his wife are both six feet tall or more and they really like to roll up and cuddle in the quilts. Be so proud of your quilt.

I, too, have had an iron to "blow up". A beautiful quilt and in spite of the problems, keep quilting.
