Your quilt is very pretty and I agree that trip quilts are fun to make.

Does anybody have any suggestions about what I can do if my longarm quilter doesn't have it done in time for Christmas?
How about using a walking foot and quilting a diagonal crosshatch.

Just sew diagonally through each patch - corner to corner - then on to the next from one edge to the other. When you get done you'd end up with an X through each patch. I think it would work well for a TATW.

Or you could follow the design of the quilt and go diagonally around each color band. In that case you'd have just one diagonal line through each patch and the overall quilting would be a large square pattern. This might show off the design a little better.

You make it sound so easy, but I'm sure I would find a way to complicate it. lol Thank you so much for sharing that idea, and taking the time to explain it. I'm still new to sewing, and I've NEVER actually quilted any of the tops I've made. I am definatley going to try it, but on a project for myself (incase of ooopsies) :)

Beautiful quilt. Your Aunt will love it. My Dad is getting a picture of his quilt for Christmas because I will not have it quilted by Christmas. I will wrap up and give him the pillowcases that I did manage to get done. :-)
