    Default Tee shirt memorial quilts

A year ago, my BIL passed away very unexpectedly. He was wonderful man with a great sense of humor and a huge heart that always had room for one more. He and his wife had 3 sons. She asked me to make tee shirt quilts for each of their 3 boys. There were only 10 shirts per quilt so I added some embroidery and novelty fabrics to tell some of the stories he always told. He told his grandkids that when he graduated high school, he got a peanut butter sandwich wrapped in a road map. His also told them that all he had to play with was rocks and sticks. Popcorn was his favorite snack and Feb. 2 was his favorite holiday. He loved GTO cars. I had to add all that too. My nephews are in their 40's but I received tearful phone calls from each of them. They treasure the quilts. Thanks for looking.

I got tears in my eyes. Tissues. And I don't even know the sons but these quilts are really great. Love the one with the rodent and the equine a.k.a. Didn't know if I could type that one in but I'm sure everyone knows. My mother used to tell my dad when they would have a disagreement to go to the wood shed and stay there. He loved woodworking. No wonder they called you crying over the phone. And at least they called you. Their father and mother brought them up well.

Great job - I am in the process of making 3 of these quilts for the grown children of the man I am seeing. I hope they appreciate them as much as your nephews have.
