For all of you who keep mentioning the tool - I didn't use one! I did it the old fashioned way. I did find a way to cut out the pieces out of a square and then trim the blocks to size when they were sewn together - but I didn't know about this wondrous tool until yesterday's post on the Twister. My squares measure 7". I could arrange the colors just the way I wanted.

The one I made from scratch was before the tool using a photo I've had for quite sme time as a guide to draw up my own templates. Only uses two! I laid my pieces out on a bed then moved them around until I had a good layout of colors next to each other then moved them block by block to my Janome. Wasn't difficult to do even for an old gal like me to do!
