This is a really nice block - I worked out the 8" block I prefer the flowers with a white background. To do this block I make four 4-1/2" colored squares with 2" or 2-1/2" white squares sewn diagonally on one corner. Then I make four 4-1/2" white squares with 2" or 2-1/2" colored squares sewn diagonally on one corner. Sew the four colored squares together. I can then place the colored blocks on my wall and decide placement. I keep the white blocks unsewn until I decide on final placement and then place them accordingly.

I really like this pattern. And the quilting in the center of the flowers is fantastic. Well, here is another one to add to my to-do list. I think a table runner would be a good place to start. Red and white like yours for Christmas maybe!
