    The background fabric is by Benartex and is part of the Quiltmaker's Gift line, to go along with the children's book of the same name. I've not been able to find any more of it, but possibly it is available somewhere.

    The design looks even more like a bow on a gift if you border each block with the same color as the 'bow'. You lose the tessellation, but it makes a nice block to use for a multi-fabric quilt.

    Very nice quilt, I have seen that block before but can't remember what it is called. It does look like fireworks.
