Tessellated Texas - at the Local Library
Our local quilt guild (South Plains Quilters' Guild) does not put on a quilt show. Instead we hang quilts over the upper level railing at our downtown library. They stay there for 2 months.
I snapped this picture during the morning we hung the quilts last week. It is called "Tessellated Texas," and the pattern was designed by Jackie Reis. Notice how the Texas images are nested (the beige ones are upside down). Jackie said she got the idea from some Texas shaped garden tiles that could be nested.
Jackie visited our guild last year, and I was able to get the pattern. I am waiting until my skills increase before I try it. The curved seams will be a challenge for me, but also skill in keeping those pieces organized. If I am lucky, the person in our guild who expertly made the quilt on display will teach a class using the pattern!
Here is a link to a Texas quilt shop that sells Jackie's pattern and a kit:

Jackie is retired. I don't think she is involved at all in the marketing or sale at this time, but I agree that the picture of the quilt hanging in the library is superior.

Oh so nice. want the pattern too. they are in Bryan, Tx. my sister just reminded me that City is named after one of our ancestors, long ago. thanks!
well they are out of stock on that one but have a really nice one of Texas itself in red/white/and blue of course.
