Default They Followed THE Star .... Quilt!

I thought you might enjoy seeing what lies atop my bed during the holidays. It's actually a lap size quilt, but I found that it was getting folded in between uses, and not seen ... thus I didn't get to enjoy it to the utmost!

Solution ... flipped over a Valentine's quilt which has a black with metallic gold design (see the pillow sham for the fabric) for a perfect underlay to show off the Christmas quilt. Love it! (and it seems the Judges did too, when I showed it this year for a red/first ribbon!).

It has a scrappy back, much like it's storage case in the off-season, which means it can stay out, as there's nothing Christmas about the pillow sham and it coordinates with my family room!! I've given you a close up of one of the sheep, so you can see the curly fleece! The rest is SITD, and stars to keep with the all important Star!!

Beautiful! Do you mind me asking where you found the pattern?

It's a Nancy Halvorsen, Art to Heart pattern ...from a couple of years ago, though I have seen the book still in LQS'. The quilt is featured on the back cover.

Thanks everyone ... for the kind words.
It was a FUN quilt to make ... and works up easily, because of the large pieces.
I have plans to someday re-create the Shepherd into Little Bo-Peep and make it as a child's quilt, with the Nursery Rhyme as part of the gift.

I love Nancy's patterns. It's a lovely quilt and the sheep are delightful. Your cushion/pillow is beaytifully rich looking, exotic even. Thanks for showing your work.
