Since I sold the wall hanging with the cardinals I still wanted one of my own, so am making this three piece one. Top is done, now to quilt it and bind it. Binding will be in the dark brown fabric. I am also going to to an applique of the bottom center bird that will hang onto the red border so it looks 3D.

Beautiful work. That will look great as a wall hanging. Also love the applique idea.

That is such a great idea, 3D. It will all look awesome when it is done.

Looks wonderful. That's a great idea...to do 3 pieces...another idea to try. I'm going to do some smaller projects once I get my last 3 tops quilted. This looks like a good idea for my hallway area...thanks for the inspiration.

These are so pretty. The 3-D idea is really different. Look forward to seeing the pictures of the finished piece. I love work with cardinals in it. I have been buying any fabric that I can find. My mom loved them so whenever I see them I think of her. All good memories.

These are great - can't wait to see the finished product. I have always thought about a multiple panel, but haven't done won yet. You have inspired me.
