I would go to the Thrift stores. I do not shop the Goodwill stores any more just because their prices are way too high! I f you have a Thrift store or an Arc store check those out. They ALWAYS have fabric for sale .

OMG I am so envious of people saying how much they find. I have been going to all the GW, Salvation Armys, Thrift Store and what not in a 35 mile radious of my area for the past 6 months and not a thing have I bought(except a few bks). Do I live in a non quilting area or do I live in a quilting horders area??????? LOL

I went to good will because of all the good deals everyone here gets. I thought the prices were way to high. I throw better stuff away then they had. JMO>.

I never find fabric at good will. I find my fabrics sometime at the Kidney Foundation Community Thrift store. It's usually in clear plastic bags where the underwear is. It' from $2.99-$5.99 a bag and sometimes marked down to $1.50-$1.95. I'll have to post some of the blocks I got recently.

I generally try to buy only the color tatchit (those plastic tags) that are on sale. That brings the fabric to about what I think a thrift store price should be. I only buy what I like, too and will leave some fabric there. I don't see as much of it as when we had regular routes and used to go out once a week and hit 5 or 6 different stores: Goodwill, Sally, Value Village, Kidney Foundations, St Vinnies, Last Chance. Our Last Chances have half off everything on Mon so that's the best day to go, other wise I think they are overpriced. We live in metro Atlanta and I bet there are 50 different thrift stores around the metro area. If you live near a big city it might pay to check it out.

I almost never find any fabric at Goodwill or Salvation Army, but I find great fabrics at a couple of thrift stores that I go to. The fabric is only a dollar a yard. I've found that the Salvation Army is way too high ! I only buy what I like.
