Your tie quilt is beautiful. Love the way you put it together, and the borders very, very nice!

Love to Quilt: I have a question about how you did your tie quilt. Did you open up the ties before you sewed them together? I really love your design and would like to try it myself.

What a wonderful job you did color co-ordinating those ties. Great job. Some day I'd like to try my hand at that.

Yes I did open them up to cut the pattern. I used the small end of the tie. I also used iron on stabilizer to the back of each one to keep the silk ones from moving around. I am glad you like the quilt. I am going to make me one now. I asked all of the men at my Church today to bring me all of the ties that they didn't want any more. When we retire I will have a memory quilt from this church.

Love to Quilt: Looking forward to seeing the next one! Thanks agian for sharing and the information on haow to make the quilt. I was able to get the Quick Quilts from the Heart book online, The book was $2 and the shipping $3! That is less than you might pay for a pattern. I'm sure since it is a book from Fons and Porter there will be other great tips inside.
