I love the piano key with it....looks like a perfect matching component. I agree with fleur...do the keys by strip piecing, it will go much faster. Bind in black and it will be a beauty! (It already is andyway)

I normally love a piano key border but in this case I think a more subtle border is in order. The piano key border is too distracting and takes away from the beauty of your blocks...IMHO. Your quilt is beautiful.

this is one quilt that will continue to look great whatever you do-----sit with it for a few days put a plain border+the piano border where you will see it as you pass by----i8f you still cant decide how about 2 of each

You know, while I was reading your post, I was thinking the same thing as you - "maybe the piano key border is too much" - but then I looked at the photo, and I quickly changed my mind. With the black, it doesn't look like too much at all, but very pretty!

Maybe a thin "strip" border with some of your colors (going horizonal instead of vertical.) and then repeating your thin black border.

It is going to be beautiful whatever you do with it.
I agree. Maybe a horizonal border in colors used in quilt and then a small black border.Beautiful quilt!

I think the piano key is awesome! Besides...anyone who can do a piano key border and not want to stab her eyes out with a pencil has earned my awe and admiration!! :) Go with it!

    Love the colors in it.
And the black really makes the colors POP.

Either way you go, the quilt will be spectacular. That said, I gotta tell you how much I like the piano keys!!! To my eye, they extend the excitement to the edge of the quilt. If you can stand the extra work involved, I'd keep going.
