What do you mean Ugly. It is a good man's quilt or young boy.

I do not see an ugly quilt, some times we are so fixed on what we expected we over look something beautiful.

Unique, one of a kind, not gender specific although most would lean towards a boys quilt, colorful, full of textures, prints, utilitarian, etc.
I'd say it will be well used.
    What's the problem again? :)

I disagree with you, it's a great quilt. Sometimes we are way too hard on ourselves. For one thing the darker colors won't show when the baby spits up or spills something on it when he/she gets older. Take a step back, it is truly a unique gift and the baby can use it for quite some time and I'm sure the baby and mom will love it.

It is a very unique quilt, but not so much as a baby quilt if we are thinking new born. Hold on to it and in a few months approach mom with it. No need to mention as to when it was made. It will be ,as previously stated, a grow-along, drag-around binkie. In the meantime, a small baby gift will suffice.

We never know about gifts. It will be opened and passed around but give the receiver time to really look at it at home. There she will appreciate it so much more. It is perfect.

Absolutely give it!!! It's durable, warm, cozy and will grow with the child. I can picture him in 5 - 6 years cozied up on the sofa in the dead of winter with his "baby" quilt!! I have to make a quilt for a baby boy also and this is the perfect idea! Thank you!! And you are blessed with a talent girl!! Keep on using it!
