Looks like butterflies to me. Dragonflies have smaller wings and a much longer body.

Print or sketch one of the blocks, then make copies and doodle on it until you find a design you like. Vines and leaves are pretty easy and very forgiving. If you mess one up, who can tell? They'd also fit in well with the "theme" of this quilt. It's very pretty, by the way and I would have guessed them to be butterflies as well.

That is so pretty. How about machine SID around each block and handquilting around the appliques including those on the borders.

Wow that is beautiful. I thought they were butterflies, too, until I read all of your post. They are so pretty even though they are not butterflies. You do beautiful work.

I would do the quarter inch from the frame of each block. Keeping it simple so as not to detract from the lovely applique. I too think they are butterflies as TeddyB said. Dragonflies have both wings coming from up by their heads and have long skinny back portions of their bodys.
Your quilt is adorable, whatever the bugs are. Smiles and hugggggggs

Love the quilt!! Great job...I think the quilting would depend on how much quilting you like in the quilt. My favorite is stippling but if you are not comfortable with that, echoing the dragonflies or the inside lattice would be fine too.

This quilt is so cute and your applique work is fantastic. If you hadn't said anything, I would have said butterflies too. Sorry, no advice on quilting, not my strong suit. Keep up the good work.
