    I sewed scraps into strips roughly 13 inches long, then the strips together about 36 inches. That gave me enough length to cut about 3 triangles with my 12 inch ruler. I would work with pieces about 30-40 inches long and cut a few blocks out at a time. That seemed to be a good compromise between cutting several pieces at once and not having fabric that was too unwieldy.

    When I saw this on the QB FB I thought there is an original idea for using "crumbs". I love scrappy quilts but crumb quilts never appealed to me. This not quite a crumb one is fabulous. I may have to borrow your idea for my own version if that is okay. I love this quilt.

    Thank you...I think one of the keys to your winning quilt is you separated the cool colors from the warm.
