    Default "A Tribute to Ray"

A friend of mine asked me to make her a wall hanging quilt, using some of the neck ties from her diseased husband's collection. Lucky for me, Ray had some very interesting ties that were perfect for an art quilt. Two of the ties were Save The Children ties, designed by children. I captured the children's names and the title they gave to the fabric they each designed. Ray served 6 years in the Marines (3 tours to Vietnam), so I highlighted the two military ties in the borders, rather than cutting them up. Along with 4 other quilts made by me, this quilt will be entered into a quilt show this Summer.

I’m sure your friend is grateful of your quilting talent...what a nice commemorative wall hanging to honor and remember Ray for his service.
