    Default Trip Around the Hemispheres

Hi All, Just finished this quilt top today. It started out to be a trip around the world but morphed into a trip around the hemispheres. When I went to sew in the center strip, it was too short by an inch and the seams didn't line up (grrrr). I thought I was consistent with my seam allowances and pressing, but alas, I was not. So to save the project, I just added a center strip of rectangles. On the bright side of things, it is one (or even the first) quilt top I have made that has come out square and not a trapezoid. I did have my expert help when I measured it. Instant pet magnet, just add quilt top . The dog wandered over eventually to check it out also. Now I just need to make the sandwich, quilt and bind it.

    Happy quilting.
    Shari

Good save! Nothing like finding a way to save a project that you've worked so hard on. I made a Trip around the World many years ago and it was fun, been thinking about making another one for about a month now.

Great quilt! Glad you worked out the problem instead of making it a UFO!

Great save! I love your bright colors. My eye was not drawn to that center strip and I would have thought it was supposed to be there if you hadn't pointed it out.
