Trip Around the World - Corduroy
Hey Y'all,
I just finished this quilt top graduation gift today. Now to decide if it needs a border. I think I have enough of the dark pumpkin OR dark teal to piece together into a border. It's all corduroy clothing from my great-niece's life - toddler to now. HOPING to get it done in time for her May graduation.
Question - can I bind this in regular cotton or does the binding need to be an equal weight fabric as the cord?
Y'all have a great weekend!

What a great nostalgic gift. A border would tie all of the colors together and frame the quilt nicely, but I think it looks good without it. To answer your binding question, much of the older corduroy was a narrow wale and quite lightweight so it didn't always stand up well over time as the wale would rub off with wear and the fabric would get quite thin, so I would go with the stronger cotton binding for durability.
