    Default Tropical Charms

I am calling this quilt ‘Tropical Charms’. It is a little larger than a typical ‘queen’ size. The piecing is loosely based on a tutorial my sister found on a Missourri Star Utube video called ‘Falling Charms’. My blocks are slightly different from the video and quite a bit larger (16”) but they went together in the same way as the video. The quilting, done on a DSM (JukiQ2000) is a free-hand flower and vine design just stitched randomly throughout the center blocks. The gray, white and black borders are a little more controlled and repetitive. Then the pink outside border is what I call ‘exploding feathers’. I have always been intimidated by feathers and I just decided to play with them until I felt comfortable with them…..well, semi-comfy. I know there are plenty of mistakes within this quilt but I hope you enjoy the pictures!

The Falling Charms is a versatile pattern but I love what you did with it! You sure kicked it up a notch with the 4 patch posy blocks and awesome quilting!
