    Default Tropical Garden After Dark

My BFF sent me a picture of a quilt hanging in a LQS in Orlando, Fl. She said she could see me doing it with a black background. That was @ 16 months ago! I took the concept & made some dramatic changes to it. The original pattern used tulips, I used hibiscus's for the flowers. They used only 1 row of log cabin blocks & I used 2. Anyway, I really modified the look. She's done now & going to make her debut at the Gun Barrel Quilt show in Athens, TX April 24 & 25. Hope she brings home a ribbon! The first picture is the one she sent me, the rest are mine.

Very pretty. All the modifications changed the look of the quilt considerably. Lovely quilt. Thanks for sharing.

I like your interpretation of the original. Quite a challenge I would imagine getting everything to fit. You have to be proud of your achievement, it's fab-u-lous.

Absolutely incredible both quilts are beautiful. I happen to really like a black background so that makes yours my favorite, I hope you get a ribbon for your quilt, you deserve it! Good luck!
