    It's gorgeous! Could you elaborate on the difference between "needle turn" and "turned edge" applique? I would have thought they were one and the same.

    I took a class on turned-edge applique where the fabric edge was turned around a freezer paper shape and glued. The freezer paper comes out, and the applique is machine sewn on the background with a clear thread. It's very different from putting the applique shape on the background and turning it with a needle by hand.

    Before I read about your struggles my first thought was "this might be her next entry in the VA State Fair" - sorry it was a challenge but it sure looks sharp!
