It is adorable. You must have spent a lot of time piecing the shell of the turtle. What a nice remembrance of a friend.

Well, I love mug rugs and I love turtles, so what's not to like about this. I think it is adorable.

Wow! All that work (paper pieced, I'm sure) for a mug rug. It's a cute as can be.

Very cool mug rug! And so fitting for a remembrance of Malvina Reynolds. I've been a fan of her songs for years.

Aw, it is awesome. And, it is most unique!! I have never seen one with this pattern before. It's just a bonus that it keeps bringing you smiles. And happy thoughts of a friend who has passed on ahead of you. My condolences on the loss of your friend.

The pattern is my own, but easily created. I took a Mariner's Compass pattern in QuiltPro and stretched it. The piecing, however, was tricky because there were so many different shapes. I made a lot of mistakes and, therefore, had to substitute a different outer light green, since I was using mainly scraps.

Malvina is long gone, but not forgotten.

Your turtle is just so cute. And how did your husband come up with such a cute title for a song?! I'm guessing it is probably a very darling song at that...
