    I did the same pattern and did not like the blocks they had put in the center so I got a fabric sort of like yours but mine has a red background and skate ponds, etc. And I agree, the slant part to put together was tricky. I think I just laid my piece over the other and sewed thinking that if my lines didn't quite match up I could stitch another ski trail or mountainside. Haven't quilted mine yet but it's in the stack of "to do".

    It is a Crabapple Hill and they have a quilt done. Might give you an idea what to do.
