Beautiful quilt. How did you like the bamboo batting? I just bought some but I haven't used it yet.

Bamboo is just that -- fabric made from bamboo fibers. i liked it, but probably won't use it regularly in my quilts, as it did wrinkle and fray a bit more than I like. i bought it on sale, but it is usually more expensive than cotton.

The bamboo batt was very nice to work with. If they were not so pricey, I would use them all the time. They were promoted as being "planet friendly" as bamboo leaves less of a carbon footprint than cotton, but apparently the processing is not so very "green" so it's all a matter of interpretation as to which is the more ecologically sound choice. But in terms of working with it -- it was great.

Not very green and when the bamboo is processed it becomes rayon. Probably why it was fraying. But I bet is was really soft! I have to confess I love the way bamboo rayon feels!

You really do good work! I love your color choices here. She is gonna love it!
