I started the quilting on this quilt over two years ago. I don't usually let a quilt become a UFO, but this one got away from me. Here is a question that I posted about the batting:

I finally got it finished last night. I had cut up over 100 squares of the striped fabric and decided not to use it on the quilt that I had intended. I've used the striped fabric in several quilts now trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
I'm going to use this quilt as my bedspread.

The striped fabric cut and turned was a brilliant way to use all those squares you cut, and adds a great interest to the quilt. Much better than if you did the straight lines border. I also like how you offset the stars.
