    Default Two of the Same

Two of the same quilt in different colour ways.
I am considering offering to teach a "Learn to Quilt" class and this would be the quilt we would make. It is HST's with a bit of snowballing. The quilting itself would be walking foot with a machine binding.
The pink one I did for a friend whose daughter had a baby girl, it is 45 x 60. The b&w one is about 25 x 35 and is more of a wallhanging size. They could choose which size they wanted to do.
    Anyhow, here they are.
BTW...this is a free pattern called Ricochet and Away. I have made it many times and it always turns out well regardless of the fabrics. However, although she did it out of the goodness of her heart, the instructions the lady gave are not great. If anyone is interested, I've re-written the instructions with fabric requirements and a placement diagram, if anyone wants it. Just PM me.

Beautiful quilts. I have to make one for an expected little girl. The pink one looks perfect. Thank you for sharing

I think it's a great project to start a quilting journey! Great that you are willing to teach it, I bet you will be a fabulous teacher!

I agree. Do you make more than one HST at a time? Great pattern as the quilt size changes with the size of the squares.
You did a great job with your samples but personally I like the pink ones contrasts that highlight the design best.

Those are a couple of very nice quilts. A lot of beginner's are scared of HST's. They would be super experienced after making either one of these versions. Good luck with your class.
