UFO baby quilt turned into couch throw
I'd made a few baby quilt tops, but no one in my family is adding to our extensive family tree. So, I just started adding extra borders to an unfinished top. Then I read here about "serpentine" stitching in the ditch rather than straight stitching. ..idea! I did that first, then quilted each border according to the fabric pattern. On the multi-colored striped fabric, I had quilted about every 3-4 inches, then read about "matchstick" quilting, so I went back and quilted on each stripe! Feeling really brave, I FMQed around the flowers border using metalic thread. I truly enjoyed practicing my new quilting skills this week. Thanks to QB.
What is "matchstick" quilting and can anyone identify what stitching is used in the pebbles?

On the pebbles, I used the same serpentine stitch that I used to SID and just spaced 1/4'" (used my presser foot as a guide)
