Ugly quilt in process

Thanks. I was having trouble explaining what I envisioned for her quilt so I copied the picture and put it in a paint program and fingerpainted until I got the right color and straight enough lines that didn't cover too much of the quilt. It worked so well that I decided to try out all the other ideas too. I'm eager to see what she decides on.

I agree, rummage in your stash and grab anything that is really vibrant/bright....hot orange, acid yellow, turquoise, audition it and see. Sometimes the most unlikey fabrics will work, picking out a subtle colour in the blocks. This is no ugly quilt....just a sleeping beauty. Add a "kiss" of colour and you will be pleasantly surprised.
