    You did a wonderful job on your Uncle Sam Quilt. The design just amazes me to look at :) The design coupled with the colors, you just can't go wrong.
    Also congratulations on finding a job! My husband and I are both retired, but hold our breath that he doesn't loose his pension :cry:

    No, I didn't use the smart plate ruler. I made myself a paper template, though, so I could "speed piece." It worked out fairly well, but not perfectly.

    Maybe you are galloping by too fast! The points in the center of the blocks are ok, but the points at the edges of the blocks got swallowed up in the seam allowances. If I ever get the ambition to do another, I will attempt to improve the piecing work.

    When I look at the first photo, I can see the kaleidoscope swirling! (I crossed my eyes to get the effect quickly.) Beautiful work, and a beautiful quilt.
