Whenever I was really short on fabric and money (not now for the fabric but yes for the money) I sewed every little piece of fabric to the next one and when I had enough, I cut it into 5" squares. I retired the end of June and I am going through my sewing room (OH WHAT A JOB)
I came across all of these squares that I didn't even remember I had. I call it "making fabric". One man's trash is another mans (or womans) treasure. I am in the process of giving away about 10 large boxes of scraps. I never want to throw away anything that someone can use. Great blocks.

I LOVE Chet and Bernie and know what you mean about "or what?" and your approach to your fabric is one I need to adopt...I keep thinking, what a shame...I know I"ll never use all this fabric and yet I love it so! Time to take control.

not so much taking control, that sounds like punishment. A new path perhaps. I know what I was thinking when I bought fabric..ooOOoo pretty But what do I do with it when I get it home?
Scrappy was the long time coming answer for me.
Pick any pattern you want. If you want a two color quilt, just use twenty or thirty of those gorgeous reds and twenty or thirty neutrals. or forty of those stunning blues. Never worry if you have enough of anything again! They grow on you, honest.
