Maybe becasue it is of an older era fabrics, you should try hand quilting with over-all pattern of Baptist Fan, its half circles and would compliment all those beautiful blocks
    happy stitchen

wonderful quilt. I also think SID is the way to go. You don't want to take away from all the lovely blocks. I love the backing too - what a find!

Your quilt is gorgeous. It is wonderful that both you and hubby created this fantastic treasure. You did a great job--and you even tackled the curves of the drunkard's path. Love hubby's fabric choices. Love the backing.

I don't know if I am more impressed with your quilt, or the fact that your hubby went fabric shopping with you and looked at fabric, and picked some out!

Beautiful quilt. I love your backing fabric. My DH would love that too. He is a huge history buff and the Civil War is one of his favorites!

    Quiltncrazy,
I am a very blessed woman to have such a supportive hubby.
He knows the names of all the blocks in this quilt top. :D

There is a country route we like to travel that has a couple of barns with quilt blocks painted on them.
He spied them before I did and told me the names of the blocks, before I could tell him.
I smiled and he said, 'I pay attention when you show me something.'

He also picked out the binding fabric.
He has been such a positive driving force for me.

He has blessed me with three sewing machines this summer. :D
I have used one of them to do some of the piecing of this quilt top.
I will post pics sometime later of each one, a Singer Treadle, a Singer Featherweight and a Singer Handcrank.

    Sandi
