    Thank you betlinsmom.
We have read the info E. Burns has in her book.
Checking out URR quilt stories online sounds fascinating.

Sandi---I know your husband is thrilled with his quilt. It is so awesome that you made this just for him.

I made a URR also and I gave it to my husband. He LOVES it!!! He is a Civil War buff too.

    Hey Marcia,
    Thank you for the compliment.
Does your husband collect Civil War artifacts?
My husband does and he loves to trade stuff.
Right now he has a Civil War Musket he wants to trade for a Civil War sword.

How great to have such a theme oriented quilt. I think quilt in the ditch so as to allow as much of the block to be displayed as possible.

I am going to attempt to hand quilt this top.

My friend Florence who works at Hancock Fabrics picked out the needles (size 7 - quilting/betweens) I need to use. She also advised me on what basting spray to purchase. I used my 40% off notions coupon for it.

She also told me that the quilting technique I was describing to her was called 'Echo Quilting'. That is how I will quilt this URR.

Really looking forward to starting this next step.

    Sandi

PS To all of you who have shared your advice.
    THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH.
I really appreciate all your compliments and comments.
