I can't find anymore of the dark blue so just ordered a fabric called Blue Flames that has orange in it that matches the beak and feet of the eagle for the outside border.

There will be some of the white between the border that is already on and the Blue Flames.

This will be on the outside border

It is in the Quilts Without Corners Encore book. I designed the white head and tail instead of making it all brown. I put in the orange beak, embroidered the eye, and machine stitched on the feet to make them look 3D.

I guess I need to order this book and start a stash for this project. My 13 y/oson just made First Class in BoyScouts and I have a bunch of Robert Kauffman scout fabric stashed away for an EagleScout quilt for him. This would be a perfect cener for his quilt. Oh my , something else to add to my to do list. Great job on the eagle!! It is just fantastic!
