Using pillow panels in a quilt

Your post is so timely for me! I came into a lot of those panels too, and have decided to use them in quilts. In fact, I am working on one right now!
Rather than struggling with finding a block to fit the panel, I simply add borders to the panel to make it fit the blocks I want to use. Note the pieced border on the panel in this quilt. I think next time I'll go with a plain border, rather than the pieced one, tho.
I am actually having a lot of fun coming up with ideas for the panels. My current project is going to be set on the diagonal with the panel in the top third of the quilt. Here is the one in progress by me just now:
