I make mostly lap quilts. I fell in love with this cheery cherry one and lightened up a spare room without making a lot of changes. (had been dark green and burgandy) The curtains started out as sheets from Walmart. THe striped pillow cases are from there too. Made the top case with fabric from the throw. The tablecloth is a vintage one from my mother-in-laws. Probably 1940's, but maybe 1950's.

I have a white bedskirt to replace the burgandy one, but haven't gotten it on there yet. The plan is to have a room that's neutral enough I can throw my latest favorite quilt on the bed and enjoy it before it moves to its new home. I was going to replace the green comforter with something lighter, but it's staying there for a while.

Oh how pretty. The smaller quilt would make a great foot warmer quilt.

Looks like you matched everything together and bought it at one time..;)

Nice job and a great way to get some color into your room while you decide which home gets the next quilt!

My daughter is 28 and that comforter/skirt were hers complete with large floral print burgandy drapes/pillow shams, and rag rolled walls. It was time for an update! Painted it a couple of years back, but the rest was still locked in a time warp.

Sounds like your daughter and my MIL had the same pattern and print! It's fun to get an old room refreshed. Best wishes on using it the way you have it laid out/designed.

Once you get the bedskirt switched out then you have a great neutral room for a temporary quilt!

The lamp had a burgandy/green shade so I switched it with this one from another bedroom. Oops! Keep looking! The burgandy might have been better.

debcavan - just looked to see where you're from. In Wisconsin "foot warmer" came to mind, but here in TX - never thought of it that way. We take off the spreads - not to keep them nice, but to have it cool enough to sleep. :)
