For anyone wanting to do paper piecing, a great group to join for a lot of good info and free blocks, is Carol Doak's Yahoo group. [email protected]. Her patterns tell one just how much fabric to cut for each piece....so very helpful. I have done almost everyone's method and swear by Carol's as it is the easiest and makes for much less wasted fabric.

Your blocks are beautiful and the tablet of the lined newsprint is a great one. I will keep that in mind the next time I go to the Dollar Store.

wow, that looks complicated. Paper piecing scares me, but I would love to try some kind of geometric design.. Your star looks great!

You can also use old phone books for the paper. Bonnie Hunter's tip.

Great way to get rid of scraps. Can't wait to see what you do with pieces.

I thought scary too.. That is why I never tried it. But I finally made up my mind and tackled the process head-on. Look on the Internet for a tutorial and jump in. It is not as difficult as you think. Plus i dont think you can't get the same effect by any other method. BTW. The centers will be appliqued circles.
