Van Gogh project finished
#24
I downloaded an image off the internet. Then, I made that image in a coloring book form with the photo software that I have. I enlarged copies of the picture and taped them together. I put freezer paper over that copy, and I drew out the main features of the painting. I labeled everything, then started to pick out the fabrics. I made a swatch so I would have it everytime I went to the store. The swirls are glue stick applique to give them more depth anf texture. Everything is satin stitched to a muslin background. My daughter picked the brown border, because she wanted it to look like a painting with a frame. Thank you all for the great comments. I think my next project is going to be a little more easy. This one was a lot of work, but well worth the effort. :-)

Many thanks for sharing this extraordinary quilt!!! I can't even imagine taking on a project like this. It certainly speaks to the idea that quilting has truly become an art form! (and only makes me wonder what you would possibly be doing next!!)
