Wow!! I can see why you're so darned proud of that baby!! It's gorgeous and so well done. Take a bow and keep grinning--you've earned it!! :-D

I don't think I've seen the Carpenter's Star done so small--it's always a table topper when I've seen it. Beautiful!!

I never could find a pattern for it either. I looked for months, but I absolutely loved the pattern, so I made my own. I just saw a picture of one on eBay once. I didn't know much about quilting at the time, as I had only been quilting for about 6 months. I just used all 2 1/2" squares, not even realizing that that wouldn't work since some were squares in it and some were half squares. Then, I didn't know how big they should
be, so I sewed all the like 4 patches together and then decided on a size and cut them down. It was hilarious! Check out the pictures I took.

I have the book call "Simple Stars Beautiful Quilts" by Debbie Maddy, there are no Diamonds and no Y Seams. This book only has directions for Carpenter's Star 70 x70 and Bali Sky Wall Quilt 36x36.... the lay out in this book is just a little different than yours.

You did an excellent job designing that block...

I found a Carpenter's Wheel block on Quilters Cache. It's written for a 24" block but it tells you how to make a 12 " block, too.
