Default Victorian Sewing Circle Photo: Must See

Here is an antique photo of a Victorian quilt group (guild?). I would like to think so. I think the clothes date it to about right at 1900. In 1890's, the shoulder sleeves were much puffier. The one thing that intrigues me is the applique design on the table. I have never seen anything like it. Enjoy.

That is a neat picture. They often had "domestic science clubs" too. Thanks for sharing.

The appliqué pattern looks like a Hawaiian style block

My how prim and proper these ladies were. If they could see us today in our attire when we are quilting I wonder what they would think.

Yep prime and proper. Love the way they are dressed. That pattern looks like an angel. Thanks for sharing.

Ladies didn't smile in pictures, usually. Wouldn't want to mess with one of those ladies!

Looks like "stitch 'n' Xitch" clubs have been around for a long time!
