Default Video Called it an Ugly Quilt

When I saw Ugly Quilt, I was curious. The idea is to use ugly or what was I thinking fabric so that it would be easy to give the quilt away when finished because you weren't in love with it. I liked the way the fabric was stacked and cut, so I looked for fabric to try it. Couldn't find any ugly fabric, so I used large (14") scraps. For the first one.

That turned out so cute, and I decided to make one with all fabrics fish related, which will get quilted today, hopefully. Then, I gathered my seashells fabrics and cut them larger (18"), which is next in line to be quilted. I can't decide whether or not to put a border around it.

What a cool technique and a great way to use up those fabrics that don't work for other projects, a win-win.

I was interested in seeing the 'ugly' projects as well. Now I plan to find enough fabrics to cut the 14" size squares and make charity tops.
Thank you for showing your tops, really like the focal fabrics.

Nicely done! Looks like the technique called uneven 9 Patch?

Very interesting. I have a few fabrics here that I consider ugly that I was in love with when they were purchased. The blocks are great the design is perfect for the fabrics. Great Job.

Love the bright colors and the organized chaos. Not sure how to place fabrics so that a quilt looks as good as yours.
