Vintage Homestead Wall Hanging 1 - Done!
#18
    We just got back from town, and what nice posts to come home to!
The wavy border was much easier than it looks. I marked it out using the June Tailor Fancy Frame ruler - it marks scallops and wavy edges. I started at each corner, and fudged them to fit in the middle. I made the folded bias binding (using a 20" square of fabric to get a continuous strip) and sewed, matching the raw edges of the binding to the marked line. They are gentle curves, so pretty easy to do. When I stitched down the binding in the back, I just matched to the sewn line.
I took it in with us today - the girls at our usual stops just love show and tell :-) My Viking dealers wanted me to do a class on it  In the end, I agreed to do a class next month on Red Rooster's halloween fabric, The Haunted Hallow - so I'd better get my tushie busy! I need to have the pattern drafted and a shop sample done by next week   If you need me, I'll be under that moving pile of fabric in my sewing room...
