Fabulous. Love the bright yellow. Good luck with the hand quilting.

Oh Please let me know If you find out the age. Ours look almost alike. Mine was handpieced and hand quilted.
I received this and another one from a neighbor after his wife passed away. She wanted me to have them, because I made her a flannelquilt while she was going through cancer treatments.

I just love these quilts-you both have real treasures. The idea is going on my short to-do list. I will have a hard time deciding between the two-fabric or three-fabric stars. Thanks for sharing!!!! How are the edges/borders done?

What a beautiful gift!!!! I am in the process of making one with the diamonds like yours. I have never seen a pattern with diamonds and hexagons like above. It is gorgeous but it must have been hard to do, she was a very talented lady!

Cinnya, I will gladly let you know what I'm able to discover about my quilt top. It's uncanny how much alike they are. They could be twin quilts.

abc123retired, there's no edge on my top. Whomever did make the top didn't get to finish it, or what I have is just a piece of the original. I really think it wasn't finished, though, because each fabric piece is whole (not cut) and there are sections missing as though she worked on a section then stitched it to the main section. Also, some of the pieces don't quite fit right, as though the section didn't go in correctly. I'm thinking that maybe the maker was young and struggling to get the sections to fit.

Part of the reason I want to have it dated is so I can determine if my grandmother could have been the one to make it. If so, I could then figure out how old she was since I know her birthdate. It's like playing with a historical mystery and I want to be the one to solve the mystery.
