I have been sewing all my life, learned at my mother's knee. However, I am a total novice at quilting. I have been working on few projects lately and the first one I've completed is a little wallhanging for my daughters first deployment. I took the background from another pattern named "American Sue" (using Sunbonnet Sue) but had to create my own sailor as I couldn't find one anywhere. Not knowing how she will hang it over her bunk on the ship I added loops and magnets. Also, The back fabric is printed with the Pledge of Allegiance. I hope you like it!

    It's lovely, I'm sure she'll treasure it.

Very sweet, and a wonderful reminder for your sailor that she is loved.
