    Default Wallhanging

This is not too impressive, I know. But it's the first quilt I've ever done all by myself. I used a bunch of fabrics that I have lying around. I have enough blocks for a big quilt, but I wanted to do a little wall hanging first!

I did this on my "new" machine and it quilts like a dream! This is the first time I've ever been able to sit down and use the quilting foot and not pick anything out! I used an acrylic blanket instead of batting and I used surging thread instead of quilting thread. You can't tell much about the quilting itself, but there are big daisies in the big squares and little daisies in the little squares. I put some "stems" with leaves on half of the rectangles so the smaller daisies are supposed to look like they're growing

Thank you! I have been doodling feathers for 2 months and never have gotten the hang of them. I had intended on making the leaves more pointy, but they ended up looking like the feathers I've been doodling! I guess all that doodling has sunk in! I did have to draw the daisies on and I used the drawing as a guide, but I was surprised how easy it was to "ignore" the drawings and let the sewing machine "do it"! I think using the blanket made it easier too, because it's kind of stiff and easy to move as a whole unit, if that makes sense.

Thanks! I am! I'll probably give this as a Father's Day gift. I will make another for Mother's Day. I cut way too many squares because I wanted it to be a mix!

Thank you! Once I got everything cut out (my least favorite part of sewing!), it was easy peasy!
