Sure wish our wallmarts still sold fabric by the bolt instead of the precut fabric.

Our Walmart still has fabric but will loose it in 2011.

we have a very large group of quilters in town. when WM said they were closing the fabric dept. half the town was up in arms. a letter writing campaign and boycott got it quashed. even the men got involved in the boycott. the store has been redone since then and we still have our fabrics dept. WM isn't very consistent with their policies.

I think keeping the fabric dept staffed is the problem. There were three of us waiting and waiting yesterday for the fabric lady. Took one of the customers calling the office - twice - to get her there. Guess it doesn't sell enough to keep someone there full time.
Our fabric was set to close a few years ago and a letter campaign and the efforts of our Mennonite community kept it in.

They are great buys!! It's always helpful when the significant other helps out, you get to buy more. I really miss our fabric department in WalMart. They have got to be feeling the crunch on top of taking lay a way out.
