    That is a great quilt. I have used minkee as a backing on two baby quilts and it does make them very cuddly. I used batting but they were for Ontario and Alberta babies, much colder than the coast of Texas.

    I used a light batting in the one I made and quilted it on my long arm and it turned out fine. Just be careful about stretching it. I put the "stretch" on the rollers and was able to control it easily, but would probably work either way.

    The quilt is really cute! I love "bright"! :D

    I love bright quilts for babies and that one is just adorable. I've used Minky on the back of many quilts and just love it. I do use a spray basting so it stays in place! And I do always use a batting, but we're in the MidWest where you want something a little heavier than where this one will be. I've heard of others who don't use a batting with it, but I never have. Good luck, it's a great quilt.
