I hope this isn't TOO busy...because bold, busy and bright it is!

Our second grandchild is due to arrive early October. My DS said they would like bright colors but not the typical boy blue colors. So many of you encouraged me to try putting the Warm Wishes and Pinwheels together when I asked if they would look good together. Well, this is what I came up with. What do you think? They may have to put sunglasses on the little sweetheart when he arrives! lol!

Oh, one more question...what do you think about something soft for the backing...like minky? I've never worked with it before. Would you recommend it? And if I use it, do you still use batting? DS and family live on the Texas coast where the heaviest garment they use in the winter is a thick sweater!

    Thanks so much! Karen

Planning to use the orange for the binding

    Very cute great job!

As far as using minkee, that would be great. I see mixed reviews on how easy/difficult it is to work with. But I think even in Texas you can use minkee!

I use Minky on all my baby quilts now and love the feeling and how they quilt. Your quilt is perfect for a grandchild!

Love the quilt. I just made a warm wishes with minkee back and no batting. It makes a nice, lightweight quilt. I'm going to have to take lessons from dmyers because I had a terrible time trying to machine quilt SID. I ended up tying it.

I've never worked with minkee but I think it would be warm enough for Texas without batting.
